Soundrecording and Storyboard of "My Story"

The following weeks of Pantomime and "My Story" followed the same structure. In Pantomime for example one of the homeworks was to move like mashines.

For "My Story" we presented the recordings of ourselves reading our short story, as this will be the sound and dialog of our animations. For this reason Mori-Sensei put so much emphasize on the way how we speak and pronounce it and avoid having a monotone voice as we have to try to make our stories sound interesting. For many students it was a strange feeling listening to their own voice on speakers in front of the whole class. For the soundrecording we had 2 to 3 weeks. Since the Japanese sound recording system was too complicated to explain in English, Mori-Sensei suggested that we as exchange students take our own hardware, so we used an MP3 player to record our stories.

We also started on our storyboards for which we also had 2 to 3 weeks. Broadly speaking there was hardly any phase of character design, set design or design on the whole, we started straight away with storyboarding. For this story, in which the main characters are ourself and our family, everyone has already an idea of how the characters look. I made a couple of drawings on the character.

This is is the first page of my storyboard. The picture quality isn't the best as we can only scan at university, so for our homework I can sometimes only use a simple camera.

amendments

These are the changes some where in between the storyboard which I made after Mori-Sensei's feedback.
